Thoughts & Posits
I am Imani. I am Christian. I am half-Filipina and half-Black, born and raised in the United States. As a child, I had always loved writing. It's taken many years, but I've finally found my own voice. I've discovered that the world around us is vast and inconceivable; It's not as black and white as we'd like to believe. We all experience what the world has to offer in many different ways. Each person's opinions are personal, valid, and fascinating, giving our communities vibrancy and color. Our ideas should be embraced because ideas are what propels us forward as a society. Using this blog, I'd like to share with you the thoughts and posits that convict me.
These are my stories. These are our stories.
Let's delve into what it means to be truly human.
For years, I have served as a confidante for my peers seeking inspiration, help, or advice. I finally decided to own up to that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about the world around me. I founded Thoughts & Posits with a mission to open a platform of expression that I've always been passionate about. However, that's not the only purpose this blog will serve. I also dream of opening this platform up to my community. I want to boast the stories and experiences of my friends and family. I am a firm believer in the mantra that cultured ideas become cultivated actions. On this page, I want to promote an active thinking environment. Opinions are what keep the world spinning, so I'd like to harp on what makes us different and make it a reason for us to come together. Whether your avenue of writing is through poems or essays or riddles or devotions, your words hold a power that could change someone's life. I want this to be a safe space for learning from the perspective of others. That is my goal.
Aspire to inspire before you expire.
